i think there is a slight difference between liking indie infused music and dressing-acting pretentiously/disliking mainstream without caring about its quality.

This i think hits the spot:

guest 1:16's comment is the problem though behind all this. You can't make someone work in bad conditions, pay less than they should based on the fact that "oh but we're providing you a job!" most of these people also don't get paid overtime, don't have health insurance or anything, they don't even pay them what they deserve.

The reason why these people stand these conditions is the fact that they need money to support themselves, but this doesn't justify anyone to take advantage of them and treat them terribly.

i think selling yoga focused clothes and just trying to get on the yoga train is different. that doesn't necessarily translate to nicely made yoga stuff. i'd rather go and buy from a focused retailer.

i just saw the webpage for the op. and it's sad. valderama and the kid from hsm and rumer willis, and kristin cavalliari? then pete wentz? i think the only people there who have some career going on is pete wentz and the kid from hsm right? there is takes from the photoshoot there too. some pretty awkward stuff.

i agree with the observation that the exploding tv shows about fashion is creating a lot of pull to purchasing brand names. people who have been passionate about fashion already knew and already bought many things-those are the readers of this website. but accept it: now anyone who watches the hills, whether they have a sense of fashion or they have the means to it, crave to get a marc dress. they talk about how great marc is this marc is that, and nothing beyond that actually. "the internets" is also making this go further. in the last two years the blogs about fashion have exploded as well.

i don't think this is bad. if by watching it, or reading it, they educate themselves and then get a real sense of fashion, i think that's great.

crashing economy usually ends up hurting the people who don't have means to buy the first place. people who can afford 300+ for a dress will not be as affected- i think at this point. except those people who don't eat or drink and save up for that "it" item. they're in for a treat.

as someone who actually goes and checks the collection every time I am around a store, I can say that most of the stuff is things you would never-ever buy. The shirts do not fit, pants have a weird feeling. But every once in a while there is something that is interesting. I was in need of a coat for a vacation, and there was a coat there this one to be exact:

http://img.timeinc.net/essence/images/2007/sept/bitten_coat_269x269.jpg

It is not amazing, it is not carefully sewn but hell if I settle for f21, I would settle for this for 19.99! Of course I used a big black belt with it, which made it really nice. And I hate this expression but I got complimented(by fashionable people) I mean I will be giving it away soon, but heck it helped me through the winter, and wasn't bad at all.

Every once in a while there is something that you can "work with". That is the summary of bitten I think.

On the other hand I understand the pants, shirts and stuff that she keeps mentioning about the working people who want to dress nicely. if it works out for them and it sells then it is great. However I remember seeing 19 dollar shirts that I said to myself "I can get this same price somewhere else and would look better"

I am just curious though: Did she make a commitment to them for about a year or so? If not, it is great that after all these criticism that she got she still is pursuing this. That means she really is sincere.

anonymoose.. i agree with you, a bit. I just didn't like her acting, wasn't as natural as Blair's since they're both evil in their own way. I am giving her a couple more episodes before deciding though.

plus: maybe this is just a dream? (i just can't accept dan being with her)

i hated the fact that instead of showing ali talking, they kept showing her runway photos. a couple is ok, but that went on too long.

she seems to be articulate, well rounded. the interview was too short and didn't adress anything, except ali's words.
