I'm so pleased I've never watched an episode of ANY of these shows. I have a feeling (as someone who's dabbled in the fashion world), they would enrage me as well. I was telling our office intern today about my experience and how much some of it sucked. Her roommate watches these shows and says she wants to get into fashion. Clearly people are drinking the MTV kool aid.

I'll pass. I'm too old and as guest 1 so eloquently put it, my legs would look like fleshy disco balls, blinding people when the sunlight hits.

DC tried to have their own Fashion's Night Out. I applaud them for trying but . . .

I don't know if I agree, Sparksfly. The line between "well respected photographer" and exploitation is pretty fine. I mean why do celebrities do magazine shoots in the first place? Certainly not for the good of their health! It's free publicity. If you're so upset about your children being in front of the camera, you won't want to blend those lines.
Also, I'm sick of every one picking on the Gosselins. Yeah, they act ridiculous but when it comes down to it, having eight kids will never be easy on a normal person's salary (meaning anything under six figures). Feeding and clothing eight hungry mouths will always be a struggle and if you get a leg up from having a tv show, no one should judge you for that.

I appreciate a bit of honesty as much as the next person but some dirty laundry really doesn't need to be aired.

Sorry guys but I like Adventures in Copyright. I think they're informative as it's always good to see where our favourite trends have originated from. Would it stop me from buying something that I wanted? ABSOLUTELY NOT. But at the same time, most of the copies are so heinous, I've never felt the urge.

I would have spazzed out for Chuck Close too. No shame in that game :)

Peter, I would say "Carine, have you gone mad?" but in French instead.

32 if some of the readers think the content on fashionista.com is not suitable for work, may I suggest they do THEIR WORK instead of looking at fashionista on their company's dollar? You people want to have your cake and eat the person's next to you.

I always credit living in NYC with teaching me how to wear heels (and even run in them if necessary). When people ask why I respond "With all the models walking around, you've got to try every trick up your sleeve".

RR I am so sick of hearing you talk about weight and other's stuffing their faces. Honest to god, get your head checked out because it's not healthy to be this obsessed.

I don't hate you because you lost the weight. Good for you. I dislike that you feel the need to keep talking about it on message boards. This is like the third or fourth mentioning of people "stuffing their faces". It's getting old.

I agree with 10. While it's never nice to smirk at other's misfortune, I think it's nice to see a little testiness. Her blog use to bore the hell out of me because it was so indifferent. I'm happy she has an opinion. And after all, she is 16(?), she's allowed to kick up every now and then (I sure did).

I read her blog on and off again and even though it was blindingly obvious she was depressed, I am still gutted and stunned. I wish she could have gotten the help she needed.

I agree with Guest 1. The excellent pieces I have accumulated throughout the years are worth their weight in gold to me. Everything looks a bit repeated in fashion right now , hence then need to buy just isn't there for me . I have way too much nice stuff that I need to wear. And when something is finally knackered, I buy new things, hence I threw out my old ankle boots which were beyong torn up and I now have my eye on a pair from Finsk.
