To the guest:

They require school credit as a sort of insurance or something or other security. In case anything happens I guess they can't just have somebody working there for no compensation at all but school credit means that you're getting something out of it. I'm not entirely sure of what this is, but this is what an editor at Conde told me when I went for an interview for an internship there.

it's not cool. it only makes it harder for the average joe schmoe to get an internship. this is exactly why the fashion industry is insane to break into, how is some random girl from wisconsin ever gonna get a job when all the millionaires and the millionaires' kids are already in on it?

JCrew is doing super well and they have re-branded themselves and their clothes slowly throughout the years and they have done super well, the way it should be. If it wasn't because of that, they wouldn't have made the faux-Balenciaga blazer that you were all swooning over last season.

They are still preppy, they're just more luxurious.

I don't know what Karl would say, but Silvia Venturini Fendi might be a little pissed off (and maybe flattered).

Well the proceeds from her "overpriced line of shoes" went to charity, so maybe that explains it.

Behati is way, way too cool for Victorias Secret, but I guess I'd rather be bombarded by her face in tv ads than weird miranda kerr.

The thing is, not everybody that reads fashion magazines obsessively logs on to style.com to look at the shows when they are happening. So although some of us have seen the looks, I would venture to say that most people haven't.

Usually after the first few months of the season they stop showing complete looks and then start mixing things up. After all, Vogue is a mainstream magazine that isn't exclusive to people in the fashion industry.
