Vlada’s Heavy Load

Reports this week say that Vlada Roslyakova was the most-booked model during Fashion Week this season.

Of course, we’re cringing a bit.

It’s not that Vlada doesn’t seem like a lovely person - in fact, she must be pretty cool if everyone wants to work with her.

But despite looking a tiny bit healthier in New York this season, she’s not exactly a great icon for those of us who hope fashion boosts healthy, hot models like Caroline Trentini - whose butt gets cat-called routinely on the runway by a group of young fashion editors.

Still, Vlada’s booking streak is remarkable -

Especially since it means she somehow had the energy to walk in about a hundred shows this season.

One more thing: Last year, the “most walked” title went to Irina, and a slew of campaigns followed.

Is Vlada the next poster girl for… well, for everything?

I am happy for her and I think she´s a gorgeous model.It´s great to know that she´s successful.Why did the article attack her body,but defending Irina????
I don´t understand it,Vlada looks more womanly than her-seriously.

Thats not a very friendly article.

In my eyes Vlada is very good role model for health. Beeing skinny as hell when she appeared in the fashion scene some years ago, she gained a bit of weight every season, while other models are loosing more and more.

She got more and more beautiful while slowly gaining weight. Now she is no longer underweight and she is more beautiful than ever. So she is a role model for healthy maturing.

Those who still call her unhealthy, put the models in boxes, and dont see, when they have changed.

Kasia Struss claims the most-booked title this season, actually! Vlada has always done well...doesn't seem like this season was particularly unusual for her :)

Which Irina claimed the title last year? Irina L or K?

Irina L. claimed the title last year,but this season Irina K had more shows.Anyway,Vlada is the best choice.

Vlada does look slightly better than previous seasons, but she still has those awful eyebags. She's still remarkably thin, too. She can take a great editorial, though. I don't think anyone can claim she's the sign of good things in the industry when Olga, Lily, and the other excessively skinnies also booked a lot of jobs over these last Fashion Weeks.

Vlada is a tender young wood nymph, or as I am particularly fond of calling her: a delicate ethereal girl-child, whose innocent charms & fragile physique plea for nourishment & love. And nurture her I shall.
