Is This The Face That Launched a Thousand Hips?

Well, we all had it wrong.

Daisy Lowe isn't the new face of Agent Provocateur, despite some good gossip, some great photos, and some ad work on A.P.'s perfume campaign.

Instead, the honor of ousting Kate Moss goes to Maggie Gyllenhaal, the actress whose talent is the biggest part of her sex appeal.

It's because of that fact that we like the choice, as truthfully, the only way we remember Maggie's breasts and thighs (and other parts to be corseted) are because

1. When she was pregnant, we saw them in every tabloid possible.

2. When she was in Secretary, she sliced them with knives and razors, and then James Spader got to spank them.

Though we're always sad for less of Kate, the choice of Maggie seems - for lack of better phrasing - a bloody good call. Especially because it's true that Daisy would have been prettier.

Well done, Agent P.

I love Maggie, but what an odd choice...for her career, I mean...

anyone with the courage to do their first lingerie campaign after having their first child is seriously a hero in my book.

Love it! Love her! Thank God they aren't going with a bimbo type (not their stye anyway). Smart girls are sexy!

I would have loved to be in the marketing meeting when this was decided. I agree that the bimbo market is thoroughly served, but Maggie's got the body, the brain, the baby, the man AND the career... she's basically the modern renaissance woman. Should be interesting to see what this does for sales.

I realize that I might be in the minority here, but I don't find her (or her brother) to be particularly attractive. They both have this Scooby-Doo/Marmaduke quality about their faces.

I did like her in Secretary though.

i find it a weird weird weird pairing......perhaps they are going for a celeb to broaden their customer base?.........

i hope there isn't a stylist there.....she doesn't work well with them.

So apparently there is an "Alice in Wonderland" theme to the campaign. Now I'm really intrigued.

I love both Maggie and Jake (especially love him!) both extremely talented and very sexy. I think she is an interesting choice for AP.

Seems like an odd choice considering that pre-baby, she NEVER seemed to wear a bra. Here's hoping that underwires are a mandatory part of her contract.

She has indie charm and mass appeal to women of varied ages, especially over 24. Good pick, but I cannot imagine how they got there and if they really thought she'd say yes on approach.
