For me personally, turbans on women make me think they're recovering from chemo. So, I'm definately not fond of the look.

i like faran and all of the things she does and writes (besides the "what's in your bag" video clips), but i'm just not down with alison. sorry, just so over the "look at me, i'm indie, awesome, fashion-cheapo expert." and no one really rocks this look very well anyway.

the similarities btw. the prada turban and the mujahadeen headgear worn by warlords ruling afghanistan is unfortunate

There is nothing in the world known as "mujahadeen headgear". The Prada turban looks nothing like traditional Pakhtoon or indeed Northern Afghanistan headgear (which I presume you were referring to).
Those headgears are part of traditional Afghani dress and worn by folks who have nothing to do with warlords.
The Prada turban on the other hand seems inspired by a lot of 19th and early 20th century pseudo-Orientalist stuff that was popular in Europe.
