On Saturday, during a talk as part of Tomorrow Unlimited’s ‘Creator Series,’ London-based designer Gareth Pugh discussed living as a squatter in abandoned buildings with his art collective, WOWOW!
He explained how it’s pretty easy to dumpster-dive for food. He talked about sewing his first four collections on the sewing machine his mother got as a wedding present thirty years ago, and how nothing from any of those collections made it to production.
And then he revealed that his latest F/W collection is being made in Rick Owen’s Italian factory and that Barneys and Bergdorf Goodman have already placed orders.
Seriously: wow.
Or, okay, WOWOW!
