Old Navy Hits the Marc

marc navy.jpg
We can’t believe how excited we are for Old Navy’s fall clothes.

Why?

It seems their designers have been clicking through the Marc by Marc show from Fall 2006 on repeat.

The shapes are slouchy, the skirts are bubbled, and there are a few tunics - like this rosette-print shirt, at left - that definitely correspond to Marc’s exact designs.

Also check out the cropped trench over the tunic - it’s actually made of sweatshirt material. When it’s sold this fall it will win the award for coolest sweatshirt ever.

I love that sweatshirt. I hope they keep the sizing real though. a lot of times an Old Navy XS feels like a M.

I know; I didn't want to pull this image but it was the only one of the dress that I could find.

(for those that don't know: the girl in the dress is Heather Bratton, who died last year.)

Excellent! I was going to try (most likely unsuccessfully) to make something similar after the DIY spread in Nylon but now that Old Navy has done all of the dirty work...

This is the 2nd Mike & Chris item Old Navy has bit off of. Check out Mike & Chris's Dylan jacket, Old Navy had an almost identical one last fall. I gues Mike & Chris doesn't have the $$ like DVF to sue for copyright infringement.

Love the description - "Runway to street vibe"

"Take casual chic to the next level in this sporty, sophisticated babydoll coat. Fashioned from soft, warm fleece, it's blessed with an abundance of stylish details for a runway-to-street vibe. Features a drawstring hood, standing collar, oversized button front, box pleats, side welt pockets, bell sleeves and a wide hem."
