Style Dash says on May 30, Christie’s auctions this pink cocktail dress, worn by Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany’s.
The move is a repeat of last year, when the LBD she wore in the movie went for the bargain-basement price of $932,178.
Clearly this (dress, but the movie, too) is a classic, and telling someone “I’d marry you for your money in a minuteâ€? will never go out of style, but if you’re going to shell out that much money, the question remains—what do you do with an archive dress?
Put it a frame? Send it to your parents’ home for safekeeping? Or wear it on the biggest night of your life? Or, you know, every day?
Natalie Portman sported the black Breakfast at Tiffany’s dress on the cover of Harper’s Bazaar but she’s Natalie Portman, and it was the cover of Harper’s Bazaar.
Could you wear this dress to a party? And if you couldn’t, is it worth 5 of 6 figures? Let us know. We’ll be watching Breakfast at Tiffany’s on loop for the rest of the day before we make a final decision…
