Streetwalker: The Intern

Apr 03, 2007 @ 11:04am

Tess, 18, intern for Development Casting and Teen Vogue

Got her: At the new Whole Foods on Houston (which, we concede, is amazing)

Stalked her: Actually, she was nominated by her boss, and sent to our neighborhood so we could scope her outfit!

Shot her: Because this is proof you can look young and ready for work at the same time. Everyone under 25 should remember this outfit the next time they mistakenly reach for a blazer.

She says: "I don't believe you can't wear the same thing twice. If you love something, then you should wear it over and over, and it's better to invest in a few great things than go through a pile of disposable clothes."

We say: You're hired.

She needs to eat a couple of bananas...and some carbs! JoJo...I agree, she is too thin! Oh, I hate hate her boots, but her dress is oh so very cute.

Ummn anyone under 25 should only reach for a blazer to wear to work under duress.....like a white shoe firm dress code.......if you're wearing a blazer to work, you're a girl and it's not due to company mandate then you're essentially a clueless retard...

she's cute enough; the white sleeves sticking out is the best part of this ensemble

I didn't so much mean her in general as everyone on this site. It's a little disheartening.

i think it's an awesome outfit, and her size shouldn't matter.

No, her size doesn't matter, but if she still had the pretty face and hair but had 100 more pounds on her and wore an outfit like that she would not be on this site. She would be on Gawker being ridiculed.

Seriously Fashionista ladies, can you please feature a beautiful, professional, well-dressed woman who wears a size in the double digits?

We only hire size Zero interns that have been featured in Teen Vogue.

And while you're at it, Fashionista, would it kill your fotog man to take the occasional picture of someone over the age of 25? I find your ageism even more pronounced than your sizism.

I'm not in love with the outfit.... but, hello! This site is called fashionista. As in fashion. As in size zero 16 year old girls wearing amazing clothes.

Honestly, if you want to see fat old chicks go to Lane Bryant dot com or something.

STHU Casey. Like I'm going to listen to some swatchdog who drinks 17 diet Cokes in one day.

I didn't say I wanted to see out-of-shape people in polyester schmattes, but I *would* like to see Kevin take a picture of a foxy thirty-five-year-old woman every now and again.

With any luck, you'll be thirty-five someday. Believe me, you won't want to be rendered obsolete by the industry you love so much.

We feel that the sartorialist already does such an incredibile job of capturing a more sophisticated, mature style that there's no point in trying to match it. That's why we try to focus on a more youthful street look-- most of the time, it's the younger crowd that we see this look on. And for the record, one of our recent posts featured a pregnant 26 year old. Also, I am seriously crushing on tess-- i think she is incredibly cute and completely age appropriate which is really refreshing.

i don't just like you. I like you, like you,

I'm right there with you. This outfit might be cute in December or January, but it's April! Look alive. Wear some color! Also, with the buttons, and the dark colors, she looks a little like a Pilgrim.

Meanwhile, regardless of blazers, I'm a big fan of jackets in general. It's nice to be able to be comfortable all day in lots of different temperatures.

You people are all hating. She looks absolutely adorable.
The girl is 18, and she has a fast metabolism.
SO WHAT?

"Shot her: Because this is proof you can look young and ready for work at the same time. Everyone under 25 should remember this outfit the next time they mistakenly reach for a blazer."

They're saying SHE LOOKS HER AGE, but she also looks professional. It's really not something to go berserk about and accuse Fashionista of "AGEISM" and "SIZEISM".

Zoë, my original post was just some mild criticism. Considering you're the one shouting in ALL CAPS, I really don't think you're in a position to accuse anyone else of being "berserk," missy.

And point taken and thank you Kevin -- I shall drag my ancient, fabulous, 36-year-old ass over to the Sartorialist posthaste.

Kevin- Pregnant does not equal plus sized. Do any of the editors have anything to say about this or are they just ignoring and laughing?
