Chris Kane for Naomi Campbell - It's Official?

First reports out of Britain say Naomi Campbell will launch her own fashion line, with Christopher Kane as the designer.

Mr. Kane is quite a busy boy this season - besides launching his own sophomore collection, he did a capsule range for TopShop and consulted with Donatella Versace on her triumphant runway show.

If the rumors are true, we think this is a fabulous partnership and we applaud Naomi for latching onto a young talent who needs the funding and exposure a bit more than other designers.

And yet, we're still not sure how we feel about this whole thing. Is the ultimate sign of celebrity your own clothing line? And does anyone actually want to look like Naomi Campbell with her clothes on?

it sort of makes sense as naomi is a model who has worked in fashion forever and i am glad that he is being supported as he is amazing.......... but on another tangent i want to bring up how sick i am of celebrities doing their own fashion lines. pete wentz, mandy moore, beyonce, jessica simpson etc. need to give up their "clothing lines." how about struggling like many aspiring fashion designers do and go to design school or learn to sew and make your own things the real way? i went to design school and get nauseous to see so many "clothing lines" poping up by no-talents who are famous, when there are more deserving struggling artists.
at least christopher kane will be getting recognition for her line.

it does make more sense to have naomi do this though, and i would be very interested in seeing what christopher kane will do.
