America's Next Top Photog

Our favorite tipster, JM Brolan, gave us this news from Variety:

Bravo's next reality show will be called "Money Shot."

It's a competition for photographers where each week, they'll do a different photo shoot, show their best results to an "expert" panel of judges, and slowly trickle back to their normal, non-televised lives.

We suspect lots of fashion overlap on this one - even the premise of the show sounds like a reverse Top Model episode, and the possibilities for fashion-shoots-as-plot-points are endless.

Our deepest hope is that The Sartorialist will be a guest judge for one episode, and challenge each of the contestants to a Street Style Showdown.

But, you know, we'll see...

Brooke couldn't watch the show last week, but she'll be back this week with her amazing commentary. Yay!

Meanwhile, can we discuss how the "crime scene photo shoot" isn't included on the Top Model website? Did they think it was too racy?

The crime scene shoot got a lot of criticism in the media (cough, cough, Glen Beck) as being too violent. It was no worse than all the CSI / SVU shows. And sometimes fashion editorial IS extreme....go look at Italian Vogue!

I wish that ANTM would do more shoots that didn't involve an outrageous premise. Make the shoots as realistic as possible so we'll see who could realistically make it as a model.

ooh, the Sartorialist would be divine!

notes from Studio System:

* Money Shot grand prize = a layout in People

* executive producer Dave Broome's other fashion gig = The Petra Nemcova Project for TLC

Um. Doesn't "money shot" mean something really vulgar? Maybe thay should rethink the name of the show...?
