Here’s a mystery: why do fashion journalists who start to blog suddenly become obsessed with their hair?
First Cathy Horyn considered wearing a wig instead of removing her knit hat for the New York shows - a blog entry that’s become quite infamous, if not a little cherished.
Now Booth Moore, the fashion editor of the L.A. Times, explores her own obsession with the Prada turban, musing, “Maybe then I’d get my photo taken in the front row like all the masthead queens.”
The fun part: this fashion week, a young writer wondered aloud - maybe to me, maybe to herself - if she should try to get a job at a newspaper instead of at her glossy magazine. “Maybe then I wouldn’t have to borrow my sister’s Marc bag just to go to work. Maybe I’d even get some credibility,” she smiled, “like Booth Moore.”
